(A Place Like Mine)

‘A Place Like Mine’ uses a variety of landscape imagery from mountain ranges to deciduous forests from Turkey to evoke incongruous sensations of awe, danger, and the sublime in the current political situation in the country. Incorporating techniques and materials intrinsic to both photography and painting. It transforms the traditional landscape genre into a conduit for social commentary. It sets up a dialectical relationship for the viewer, arguing the emotional progress and the natural sublime are fundamentally incompatible.
