This series of paintings focuses on displacing the conceptualization and representation of imaginary places in relation to spiritual practice. By using floral images, employing the basic square layout of Islamic Gardens, each work itself creates a dedicated experience refers to meditative experience. The works explore the dichotomy of absence and presence through the landscape. The series of works follow the idea of the traditional 19t h century Romantic Landscape paintings which have a sense of nostalgia and romanticism and are infused with the uncontrollable power of nature. However, the overwhelming power of nature becomes the healing force of nature in the artist’s practice.
